On August 26, 2026 a glacial collapse in Tibet unleashed a torrent of water surging through the river valleys of Nepal, causing widespread destruction and catastrophic flooding. Tragically, the death toll is expected to reach into the thousands.

We are relieved to confirm that all Elevate Nepal staff members and project sites are safe and accounted for.

Search and rescue missions, led by the Nepal Army alongside international response teams, are actively underway to locate missing individuals and assess the full scale of the disaster.

In the face of these extraordinary circumstances, our team is monitoring developments and coordinating with local trusted partners to determine where our disaster relief efforts can be most effective. Many of you have reached out asking how to help. We feel a profound responsibility to act immediately and support those affected. If you can assist with initial disaster relief, please consider donating. A generous donor has stepped forward to match all funds raised.

Trishuli Bazaar, one of the communities hardest hit by the floodwaters, holds a special place in our hearts. Situated near the Sarsyu school we constructed back in 2018, Resham and I spent extensive time there, getting to know local merchants and shopkeepers who helped supply our project. We are deeply saddened knowing that many of them have lost their lives.

Our thoughts, prayers, and support are with the people of Nepal during this devastating time.
