We put our donors’ dollars to work in Nepal to bring potable water to remote villages, helping these communities flourish by reducing illness and premature death.
In the remote villages of Makwanpur, Nepal the only water source is in a tight, narrow gorge a one-hour walk down a steep grade. Unstable weather patterns have made water even more scarce for the indigenous Chepang tribe, which faces abnormally high rates of waterborne illness and childhood mortality.
Elevate Nepal is working with the local government, community residents and engineers to capture and distribute water to each individual house. This will allow easy access to potable water for people, livestock and irrigation.
As always, Elevate Nepal will be working directly with village residents to provide education on how to maintain the new water system to ensure long-term functionality and preserve the integrity of the current water source. Once water is brought to local schools, new toilets and wash basins will be constructed to promote good hygiene practices. Education programs will also improve health and quality of life.
With your help, we can bring the gift of water to those in dire need. We believe this is foundational to improving quality of life and the community’s long-lasting success.
There is so much more that we can accomplish together — and every dollar can make a difference. Consider becoming a recurring donor to elevate your impact and support our efforts long term.
We’re immensely grateful for your contribution!
